The arrival of international grade architecture such as Cosimo by Sujimoto, among others heralds the beginning of refined architecture in Ikoyi. The district has long been plagued with run of the mill concrete shoe boxes, with little inspiration other than a few decorative elements, like tapered roofing and recesses. Cosimoto by Sujimoto is being built in 43 Bourdillon Ikoyi and will be completed by April 2016. We are beginning to see terraces, podiums and other private-public domain features in the Ikoyi/Victoria Island axis. It is therefore fitting that the motto of Sujimoto Construction is 'Luxury Redefined'. The 15 floor building will host 100 hotel/apartment rooms, with 1,2 & 3 bedroom arrangements. They will be fully serviced and naturally there will also be penthouse accommodation; four in total. The interior of the building will be inspired by the work of Philippe Starck and will be fitted with Italian furniture. The tower will also have a roof level helipad for convenience. Such is the vision of Sujimoto, that he has even been described as the Donald Trump of Nigerian Real Estate! Written by T.Adeniyi for BBB |
