Lapal House Renovation - Onikan - Lagos Island
The Lapal House Renovation above is one of a number of renovations that have been ongoing/proposed for Lagos Island high rise buildings, in the past few years. The office building has 12 floors in total and offers approximately 400 sqm of lettable office space on each floor. The building was built in 1978 and has a total height of 47.17 m. The building caught fire in 2002 and has been in need of a renovation for quite some time. 3D Perspectives of what the finished product will look like are above. This is not the best refurbishment project we have found in Lagos Island, but it is certainly going to attract tenants. Premium office spaces are currently being let, starting from N3.9 million. The real estate developers are Zillenium.
The Elephant House renovation (seen below), which has commenced, is a much better makeover. The cladding tries to invoke some modernity into the typical vintage Lagos Island architectural typology. Lasaco House (seen below) is actually meant to be the completion of an abandoned building. We feel that this is the least impressive of all the proposed refurbishments.
