The Millennium Tower in Abuja, which is a 170 metre structure that was designed by Manfredi Nicoletti, is being finalized. Upon completion it will be the tallest architectural structure in Nigeria. For more insight on the tower, be sure to read our July 2014 entry.
The latest pictures above show that the exterior of the observatory roof has been finalized. The revolving restaurant is at an height of 102 metres and is upheld by the three cylindrical tubes. It is highly implausible that the concrete formed tubes will be covered in panels, in light of the fact that the steel skeleton of the tower has already been erected. However there will be other modern features such as LED Lighting, which will illuminate the entire leaf like structure and the Nigerian Coat of Arms. It is not clear when the Cultural Centre (Which is the 50 Metre high) Pyramidal structure that accompanies this tower will be completed, but the Millennium Tower itself will definitely be delivered this year. Written by Ayodeji Adeniyi for BBB |
