A few months ago, the was compiled by Black Border Build. To our delight, we are pleased to announce that one of the properties previously listed as under construction is now open. Port Harcourt Mall (Also known as Artee Mall) is in accordance with Spar's strategy for Nigeria. They cannot take Shoprite on, square metre for square metre, but they have instead looked to gain ground in the premium brand niche. Spar stores in Nigeria as with other Spar stores in Sub-Saharan Africa, position themselves as a higher quality alternative to the dominance of Shoprite. following retail list
It is not a numbers game, but one they are looking to establish with a little more attention to detail. They have a branch in Lekki, another in the Ceddi Plaza (Abuja), among others. This is their latest installment.
Port Harcourt Mall features 16,000 sqm. of lettable space and this will of course include features such as cinemas (Filmhouse) and eateries. It is also common knowledge that Spar are partnering with local franchise; Park ‘n Shop (Artee Group) and as such, this facility just like the outlet in Lekki also features a partner Park ‘n Shop store.
Azikiwe Road is a prime location. It is located near important venues such as the Government house and will also be served by the Port Harcourt Monorail (Phase 1a nearing completion).
PS: Ibadan Mall is also partially open (With the unveiling of Nigeria's largest Shoprite store, however construction continues on site).
